Lalique Crystal
Lalique is a French luxury company, based in Switzerland, founded by the French master glassmaker and jewelry designer, René Lalique, in 1888. It manufactures and distributes pieces in various fields: decorative objects, interior design, jewelry, perfumes and art pieces.
Lalique is famous for its iconic vases, which are still handcrafted in the Wingen-sur-Moder factory (Alsace, France), opened by René Lalique in 1921. It is the only Lalique production site in the world.
Over the years and still to this day, Lalique collaborates with several luxury brands or artists and designers to create unique pieces or limited editions, such as the world-famous architect Zaha Hadid, Bentley Motors, The Macallan whisky, Hardy cognac, Caran d'Ache, Tom Ford, Nina Ricci, THG, etc.
The pieces are sought after by collectors and can fetch record prices. On January 18, 2014, The Macallan, a 6-liter bottle of whiskey made by Lalique was sold by Sotheby's Hong Kong in an auction for the record price of US$628,000
