The finely chased gilt copper hilt depicts a spectacular scene of a panther clinging to an elephant's trunk, a powerful motif typical of the Oriental imagination.

The curved, single-edged blade, flexible and sharp, is adorned with decorative engravings, attesting to high-quality craftsmanship.
