François Duquesnoy (1597-1643), known in France as François Flamand, was born on January 12, 1597 in Brussels and died on July 18, 1643 in Livorno (Italy), at the time the capital of Spanish Flanders.
François Duquesnoy, son of Gérôme Duquesnoy, the former creator of the manneke pis.
The fame of this Flemish sculptor spread far beyond the borders of the Spanish Low Countries known as "Flanders".
