Beautifully hand-painted large Dutch earthenware vase signed by the artist.
Represents the town of MEDNBLIK in the 1900s.
Beautifully animated scene of a village with a church, a port or quay with figures emerging from the barrels of merchants' sailing ships.
A few ladies can also be seen strolling along the quay, perhaps to do some shopping or simply to meet and chat, as was customary in those days.
There are two settings on this vase, the second showing merchants at work at the foot of a charming church.
