Vintage
The word vintage
Since the 1980s, it has been borrowed by the French with the meaning of retro, and designates in fashion an old garment or accessory, dating from the time it was created.
Today, by extension, it tends to qualify any original object that is not an imitation (vinyl record, car, appliance, furniture, etc.)
However, the use also tends more and more to qualify as vintage, or neo-retro, modern objects designed to evoke or resemble objects of the period. This phenomenon extends the meaning of the word vintage, as the vintage wave, or neo-retro wave, asserts itself.
