A superb and rare set of 10 solid silver apostle spoons with spirally twisted handles surmounted by finely sculpted apostle figures. This prestigious model, highly sought after by collectors of antique silverware, testifies to the refinement of 18th-century Parisian production.

Made of 958/1000 solid silver, of a higher quality than modern silver, these spoons bear the hallmarks of the Paris jurisdiction under the Ancien Régime, including the crowned A, as well as the maker's mark of Julien Alaterre and that of the master silversmith Robert Lucas. The set is dated 1752, during the reign of Louis XV.
