Bohemian crystal is a variety of lead oxide glass that is transparent and clear like rock crystal.
It was in the 18th century that Bohemia became famous in the history of the crystal industry, both for the creation of exceptional hand-crafted crystal and for the quality of its glassworkers.
Many of the latter immigrated to north-western Europe at this time, bringing with them their techniques and know-how.
