The reverse is marked with underglaze swords.
The Meissen manufactory has existed for 300 years.
It was under the impetus of Auguste le Fort that the manufacturing process for European porcelain, previously held by the Chinese, was perfected.
The manufactory was the first in Europe when Johann Friedrich Bottger discovered the process.
The Meissen factory was founded in 1710 and was housed at Abrechtburg Castle until it moved to its current premises at the foot of the Meissen hill in 1865.
