Tapestry
The tapestry is basically a French tradition mainly in Ile de France and in the Loire Valley in the Middle Ages.
The craftsmen producing the tapestries have had to move, especially in the north of France and Flanders, in the course of history.
François 1er founded in Fontainebleau, the first royal manufactory of tapestry and in the 17th century, Colbert created the Gobelins.
